In the heart of Idaho, the Office of the Sheriff stands as the pinnacle of law enforcement authority, mandated by both constitution and statute. Guided by Idaho Code §31-2202, which unequivocally declares, "The policy of the state of Idaho is that the primary duty of enforcing all penal provisions and statutes of the state is vested with the sheriff of each county," the role of Sheriff embodies a solemn duty to uphold the law and safeguard civil liberties.
As a candidate for Sheriff of Adams County, I am committed to fostering a safe and harmonious community where the rights of every citizen are protected and respected. With a keen focus on collaboration, I pledge to cultivate strong partnerships with local government agencies and businesses, ensuring seamless coordination in the pursuit of justice.
My journey into public safety began in my youth, fueled by a deep-seated desire to serve my community. From my formative years, I immersed myself in the world of law enforcement, inspired by the example of a family neighbor who served as an Oregon State Police Officer. Through ride-alongs and academic pursuits in administration of justice, I nurtured this passion, laying the groundwork for a lifelong commitment to public service.
Amidst my dedication to law enforcement, I remained deeply involved in agricultural pursuits through the Future Farmers of America (FFA), where I honed leadership skills and earned prestigious FFA degrees. Balancing my academic endeavors with hands-on experience, I embarked on a career trajectory that led me through diverse roles, from forest and marine reserve work to campus security and beyond.
My journey is underscored by a steadfast dedication to education and training. Armed with a High School Diploma from Enterprise High School and an Associates Degree in Administration of Justice from Treasure Valley Community College, I further fortified my skills through rigorous law enforcement training at the Idaho POST Academy.
With specialized certifications in criminal drug interdiction, marijuana cultivation aerial interdiction, and instructor development, I bring a wealth of expertise to the table. As a former certified School Resource Officer, Narcotics K9 Handler, and adept supervisor, I possess a comprehensive skill set poised to address the multifaceted challenges of law enforcement.
I firmly believe that the Office of the Sheriff demands the highest standards of professionalism and competence. In a rapidly evolving landscape, where lives and liberties hang in the balance, I promise to hold to the law. As Sheriff, I pledge to uphold the sanctity of this esteemed office, drawing upon my extensive education, training, and experience to serve the citizens of Adams County with unwavering dedication and integrity.
In the face of adversity, emergencies do not wait for expertise, and neither should the citizens of Adams County. With your support, I stand ready to lead by example, ensuring that our community remains safe, secure, and resilient under my steadfast stewardship.
As a small hay farmer and rancher deeply ingrained in the fabric of Adams County I bring a multifaceted perspective to the sheriff's role. Having raised my children here, coached school sports, and avidly participated in the hunting and fishing opportunities our area offers, I understand the essence of rural living and its importance to our community's quality of life. With a profound commitment to constitutional principles and a passion for preserving our way of life, I pledge to uphold the rights and liberties of our citizens while ensuring their safety and security. As your sheriff, I will leverage my agricultural background and intimate knowledge of our region to lead with integrity, accountability, and a steadfast dedication to serving the needs of every individual in Adams County
For over two decades, I've dedicated myself to serving our community through various avenues. Within the Church, I've been an active member of the youth group, nurturing young minds and spirits. As the president of the FFA Alumni, I spearheaded fundraising efforts, contributing to the group's financial stability with approximately $100,000 raised. My passion for sports led me to coach at the grade school, junior high, and high school levels, fostering teamwork and discipline in our youth. Additionally, I've been a steadfast volunteer at the Adams County Fair for fifteen years, ensuring its success and enjoyment for all attendees. For a decade, I've lent my support to the Adams County Rodeo, embracing our local culture and traditions. Moreover, I've contributed to community camaraderie as part of the Friends of NRA banquet dinner. My commitment to service runs deep, and I am honored to continue making a positive impact in our community.
I am writing this letter to inform the residents of Adams County about my experiences with Sheriff Ryan Zollman in relation to state legislative matters. I have had the privilege of knowing Sheriff Zollman for a long time, even before I became a state legislator, as we were both involved in high school sports. Over the years, we have developed a strong friendship, and I am continually impressed by his professionalism, persistence, dedication, and knowledge.
As we both assumed our elected positions, I have witnessed Sheriff Zollman's unwavering professionalism in his approach to conducting business. He is direct, straightforward, and does not shy away from difficult conversations. When discussing matters that concern the county, he expresses his concerns and needs with clarity and sincerity.
When it comes to issues that directly impact the safety of Adams County, Sheriff Zollman has been proactive in bringing them to my attention. His persistence in staying in contact with me to ensure that these concerns are addressed is commendable. He never drops the ball, as they say in the sports world.
Sheriff Zollman's dedication to the safety and well-being of Adams County is evident. He is deeply committed to addressing unsafe intersections and turnouts, as well as combatting the fentanyl crisis and its impact on the safety of his deputies during routine traffic stops.
I have great confidence in Sheriff Zollman's knowledge of Idaho laws. During our discussions on proposed legislation, he consistently provides balanced perspectives on the pros and cons of potential new laws. I have sought his advice on multiple occasions, relying on his experiences and insights into existing laws. His input has played a significant role in shaping my decisions, including my support for the fentanyl bill that successfully passed and became law in the previous session.
In conclusion, I consider Sheriff Zollman to be an invaluable asset to the residents of Adams County. He not only demonstrates dedication in his professional life but also extends it to his personal endeavors, such as volunteering for local sports teams. When faced with challenging situations, Sheriff Zollman has proven himself to be steadfast and resilient. I have full confidence that if re-elected, he will continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of Adams County.

Letter of Support for Sheriff Ryan Zollman
To Whom it May Concern:
It is with great pleasure that I am writing this letter in support of Sheriff Ryan Zollman in his re-election campaign for Adams County Sheriff. I have known Ryan for a great number of years in various capacities. When we first met, I was a Captain at the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office and Ryan was newly elected as the Sheriff of Adams County. Ryan being newly elected was attending Sheriff’s conferences with the Idaho Sheriff’s Association and I was a new Jail Commander attending the same conferences. Ryan was always the very attentive Sheriff wanting to make sure he was well informed on the newest laws and cases to ensure Adams County was well prepared. Since my retirement from the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office in 2020, I have moved to Adams County and was elected to be a County Commissioner in 2022, taking office in 2023.
Since that time I have worked alongside Sheriff Zollman as he is very active in making sure his needs for the Sheriff’s Office are being heard in front of the County Commissioners. We as Commissioners are not always able to afford all of the needs of the Sheriff, but I appreciate the fact that Sheriff Zollman is there expressing the needs of his office.
In conclusion, Sheriff Zollman is the right man for the job in Adams County. He is a great family man that has the thought process that all of his employees are part of his family and that he is there to fight for them. Please join me in supporting and voting to retain Sheriff Ryan Zollman as the Adams County Sheriff.
Daren Ward
Adams County Commissioner
Captain (RET)
As Mayor of the City of New Meadows, Idaho and a previous City Council member, I have worked with Adams County Sheriff Ryan Zollman for many years. I have watched Sheriff Zollman treat our community with great respect and deep compassion as we walked through the terrible loss of Rory and Sara Mehen in 2022. He continues to work with the City of New Meadows to find the best way to uphold the City ordinances and enforce the County and State Code to keep our community safe, healthy and productive, even while dealing with sheriff department staff shortages.
I appreciate Sheriff Zollman’s willingness to listen to the concerns brought to him and work to find a viable solution. The ongoing efforts to create a better communication system that will enable our county to respond quickly and efficiently to law enforcement and emergency services situations are important upgrades that have been implemented by Sheriff Zollman and his team. What I appreciate most is Sheriff Zollman’s respect of the history, culture and needs that are specific to each of the communities he serves in Adams County.
I support Sheriff Zollman in his re-election campaign for Adams County Sheriff.

To Whom It May Concern:
Idaho is a wonderful state. We are fortunate to have 44 counties, all with unique attributes and a great Sheriff running each one. Idaho County is one of the largest counties in the nation, and the largest in Idaho. As we are such a vast area, we greatly appreciate our neighboring counti@s who are always willing to assist in emergency situations.
We are fortunate to have Adams County border Idaho County on the southwestern side of our county. Leading their county is Sheriff Ryan Zollman. Sheriff Zollman is a trusted leader, who assists his department wherever needed. Sheriff Zollman has dedicated himself to his community, volunteering in his church, coaching school sporting events, and volunteering his time at both the Adams County Fair and the Adams County Rodeo just to name a few. Sheriff Zollman is actively encouraging and shaping our youth and is leading by example.
As the Sheriff of Idaho County, I have been fortunate to witness Sheriff Zollman's leadership and professionalism, and we thank both him and his staff for all their assistance throughout the years. I wish him continued success in his election and look forward to working with him for another four years.
Sincerely,
Sheriff Doug Ulmer
My Fellow Adams County residents
I want to go on record as endorsing Ryan Zollman for Adams County Sheriff’s office. Ryan has many years of experience as a deputy and sheriff in Adams County during which time he has proven himself as a great leader and member of our community. I have had the opportunity to work with Ryan in my position as county commissioner these past 7 years and I can honestly say he is very conservative with his budget while making sure his staff is taken care of so our community can properly be served and protected. Besides working together as elected officials Ryan and I have been good friends for 14 plus years. We have coached together as well as enjoying watching our kids grow up together playing sports and other activities. He also does a lot in his church like youth group activities and helping those in need.
Please help me reelect Ryan Zollman as Sheriff of Adams County
Sincerely,
Joe Iveson
Adams County Commissioner
